Thai Polo Open Redraw

The redraw of the Thai Polo Open 2010 was held on Saturday 19th December at the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club using a seven team format.

Format of Play                                       

  • Teams are drawn into one GROUP with two teams each in SUB Group, A and B, and three teams in LEAGUE C, according to HPA Rules ANNEXE E.
  • Teams drawn in SUB GROUP A will cross over and play teams drawn in SUB GROUP B.
  • Teams drawn in LEAGUE C will play the two other teams within their LEAGUE
  • The winners of the GROUP of four teams and the LEAGUE of three teams will automatically advance to the semi-finals.
  • The third and fourth places in the Semi-Finals will be established by calculating each team's total POINTS taking all matches played across the GROUP and LEAGUE into consideration and forming an order of merit.
  • If two teams are tied on POINTS then the one with best GOAL DIFFERENCE will come above the other in order of merit
  • 1st plays 4th in one semi-final and 2nd plays 3rd in other semi-final.    
  • Bottom three teams play in a separate "Plate" using a round robin format
