Royal Pahang Merdeka League Tournament Schedule

A record number of eleven teams have entered for the RMPA Merdeka League Tournament to be held at Royal Pahang on 13th to 20th March 2010.

The format and draw for the Royal Pahang Merdeka League Tournament 2010 is as follows:

TOURNAMENT FORMAT AND FINAL PLACINGS                         

• This is a knock-out tournament.                               
• The team that is drawn as Team A is given a bye to the Cup Quarter Finals.                               
• Teams that lose their 1st Round Matches (5 teams) will go into a Plate Competition for 7th to 11th place.               
• Each match has to be decided.  No draws allowed.                 
• In the event of a draw, the match will go into sudden death overtime and, if necessary, a penalty shoot-out. (Please see format below).               

               
SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME AND PENALTIES               
               
Sudden Death Over-Time (Supplementary Chukka)               

• In the event of a draw at 1st bell of the final chukka, play will continue till the 2nd bell.               
• In the event of draw at the 2nd bell, the game will be stopped and an additional, sudden death overtime chukka will be played.               
• If a goal is scored during the sudden death over-time chukka, the game ends immediately.               
• If no goal is scored during the over-time chukka, the game will be decided on penalties               

               
Penalties               

• Each player on both team will take one penalty each from 30 yards.               
• If the score is still tied after the first rotation, a second rotation is taken at 40 yards.               
• If the score is still tied, penalties continue to be taken at 60 yards on a sudden death basis till the game is decided.
